Deepak Srivastava, MD
President of the Gladstone Institutes
Deepak Srivastava is President of the Gladstone Institutes, an elite nonprofit biomedical research institute focused on heart, brain, viral, and immunologic diseases. He is also a Professor of pediatric cardiology at UC San Francisco (UCSF). His laboratory discovered the genetic basis for many human cardiac diseases and developed new approaches to regenerative medicine. He served as President of the International Society for Stem Cell Research and is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Having co-founded two biotechnology companies, he functions at the interface of discovery science and clinical translation.
